    My partner and I were told this morning that the broker cancelled our car and thus got refused a car. Took us an hour to get in contact with our broker in UK but the broker said Goldcar made a mistake, confusing me with another customer. Anyways after two hrs, Goldcar offered us a car. But then they charged 286 euro.

    The tall blonde lady in her 30-40s with smoky-eye makeup served us. She was initially nice but when we asked about the additional 286 euro, she started rushing us and got very frustrated. I wasn't about to just pay 400 euro for a single day of basic car rental without asking qs. The breakdown was:

    Nice rental. Competitive prices. Good organisation. One warning: if you are to return your car at Valencia airport GoldCar, Maps will lead you a wrong place, departures hall instead of parking. Could be a problem if short on time. Select simply airport parking for Maps

    Whilst waiting in the car park needed to sit down to feed my 11 month old so entered the rental office as it has a/c for comfort. The woman on the desk shouted at us for being in there and said the door was closed and we shouldn't be in there. The door wasn't closed and she was VERY rude. And to top matters off after 2 days the oil warning light came on and the car had no oil in it when we checked. Beware!

    Be careful. When delivering the car, they stated it was in perfect conditions. When arriving at the car, it was full of scratches everywhere. You have then 30sec to find all possible scratches and communicate them to their employee. You sign something you don't see to realize later that the employee hasn't written all the scratches down. Of course, when giving the car back, they suddenly recover view and see what they couldn't see before. When confronting the employee with the error made by his fellow co-worker, he stated that it was not his business that a colleague didn't do his job right and that I should have taken the insurance (of course). I left saying that he was a thief and a disgrace for the country, that people left Spain with bad feelings because of such a dishonesty. He answered "now it will cost you more". And indeed ... I discovered that he now charged me for 600€of imaginary stuff that he probably did himself to the car after I left (even though we spoke only about a small scratch at the wheel in the beginning). Goldcar, it is not necessary to reply to this post, I've already started a claim and I am waiting for your reply before I start legal actions. This post is just to inform honest citizens to be very careful when booking a car rental.

    I have rented multiple cars in Europe and USA. Nice try at scamming me. I went straight to Hertz and rented a car of similar specs at 122 euro including drop-off fee at Granada and full damage waiver option.

    Seriously, avoid this company. Did not even apologise for the initial mix up and ruined my plans for the day as I wasted 4 hrs with them. Seriously wondering how such an unethical company is allowed to operate at Valencia airport.

    Auto new and efficient, has been on the trip throughout the week. Refund for fuel within 2 days, all efficient and I can easily recommend to other tourists. I will certainly use it in the future with this company. Yours: Andrzej from Poland.

    Despite the troubles with my credit card, I got help and understanding from the rental car. As the predecessor says, carpoolers actually pay more for a car than paying for a reservation, apparently the credit card does not want to work and I had to buy a full insurance. It was cheap, but unfortunately it came out very expensive.
